The PRS SE Paul Allender electric guitar was created by Paul Reed Smith Guitars to the exact specifications of Paul Allender, guitarist of Cradle of Filth. The guitar is made of mahogany with a gorgeous flamed maple veneer. It comes in two hues: the original Emerald Green Burst finish and the new Scarlet Red Burst finish.

The guitar has a 24 jumbo fret ebony fretboard, maple neck with Paul Allender Bat inlays instead of the regular PRS bird inlays. The bats absolutely add a dark touch to the guitar and give it a cool Goth appearance.

The pickups definitely make this guitar. The EMG-90/81TW humbuckers definitely make for an incredible metal sound while still possessing a fantastic clean sound from the neck pickup if you require it. The PRS SE Paul Allender also comes configured with a volume and tone control with push/pull coil taps and a three way toggle pickup selector. I prefer this configuration in my guitars as it helps make for a whole lot of distinction in sound prior to you even start modifying amp or stomp box controls.

The PRS Tremelo operates really nice too. As long as you are not performing insane dive bombs for ten minutes straight, it appears to keep in tune very well.

As with most PRS guitars, its difficult to find something to complain about! The neck is thin, the pickups scream and the finish is gorgeous! PRS guitars are always, in my experience, premium instruments and this guitar is no exception. While this guitar is produced for metal, it is incredibly versatile and could be utilised for most types of music.
